As some may know, I digitalise VHS tapes for customers and the other day I recorded one from 1985, which is probably the oldest VHS tape I've ever converted.

Most of them are weddings, christenings, communions, 15th birthday parties and other social events and I clearly don't have time (or the inclination) to watch them all. I do however check them for video and sound quality post conversion and then send them on.

One that I skipped through for checking contained a scene with a pet monkey holding hands with the birthday kids and he was also kissing people and well, behaving just like a human and dressed as one.

I wasn't offended, but I'm told that in those days it was common to keep pet monkeys, just as Michael Jackson did. Remember Bubbles?

Is it any different from having cats and dogs as pets? For this family, it seemed perfectly normal.

Not going to show the missus this. Every time she sees a picture or video of someone with an unusual pet she goes all broody and wants one!! :cursing:

One gentleman ten year old cat and a thieving kitten is quite enough for us.

How many pets have you got?

At the last count 12 dogs, 2 parakeets and a tortoise. The tortoise is the least demanding but isn't very expressive when it comes to showing its feelings.

Splinter , you asked “Is it any different from having cats and dogs as pets?”

I guess if you dress your dog or cat as a human, it’s about the same!
