I'm not surprised that Leominster is mispronounced and I should know, because I lived there for about fifteen years. It goes..Lemster.
But I don't see how Edinburgh could be mispronounced, unless you're American of course 
I had an American friend who would pronounce Leicester as Lay-cester...
