Just wait until Trump side-lines Musk when he has no further use for him and/or he becomes more of a liability than the president himself.
It will have to be your second option, Splinter , because he will ALWAYS have use for billionaires’ money.
But even if the MAGA wing of the trump party in the USA wins the internecine war with the big money tech wing, the UK and Germany are already being interfered with by Musk.
“Musk’s meddling in politics across the globe is costing one of his companies. Tesla said on Wednesday that its global sales in the first quarter fell 13 percent from a year earlier. The tepid numbers come as electric vehicle sales are rising around the world.”

Musk meets British humor —
I think I read Musk lost 39 billion in stock value because of Trump’s trade tariffs. Or some such bollocks. At that level it’s just numbers on a screen.
But then what’s 39 billion between friends when you’re running the show?
Exactly. I haven’t heard anyone saying “No big deal that my retirement fund lost $50k. I just feel bad for Elon - - he lost $39 billion!”

And don’t forget this angle: how many more billions in govt grants did Musk snag for his companies last week, to offset what his buddy did to the stock market?
QuoteThe UK has been one of Tesla's biggest markets in Europe, and it's seeing something of an EV boom, with 8.1 percent more BEVs registered in April 2025 than the year before, even as overall car sales have dropped by 10.4 percent year on year. But Tesla's sales fell by 62 percent—the automaker registered just 512 cars all month. For context, 120,331 new cars were registered in the UK last month, of which 24,558 were BEVs.
2.08% of all battery electric vehicle (BEVs) April registrations in UK were Tesla. The other 98% were to the previously less popular brands. YTD sales for China BYD up 631.4%, and US Polestar up 157.5%
Perhaps he'll see the errors of his ways when he starts losing money.

The problem is he has to much cash to worry about less cars being sold....

It is a public company with a board of directors who need to be fiscally responsible. If they find they need to fire him as the leader they could take that step. Though at this point it could be mostly Musk fanatics who are buying the cars. If he goes then those last customers might depart as well. Either way, you are correct he might have too much cash to really care.
SwaztiCars are suffering a tarnishing of the brand. And Cybertruck continues to pull the image even lower. Elon is a case study in brand assignation. Chainsaw thy self
