Doesn't surprise me. I recall a lorry carrying live chickens crashed close to here and passers by helped themselves to the lot.

There’s a big difference between locals looting an overturned truck carrying vegetables or papel hygienico, and locals-turned-amateur abattoirs!

This sounds like Lord of the Flies behavior.

If the there was a truck crashing with papel higienico you might actually make more cash than with animals....

That would definitely have been true during the Covid shortage.

In New Orleans we didn’t have the strict lockdown that Argentina had. We were allowed to be outside as much as we wanted, as long as we observed safe distancing. So we had a dinner party in our courtyard, with a separate small table for each couple and tables 6’ apart. People arrived with wine and other hostess gifts, but the cleverest was a Crown Royal bag containing not the namesake liquor but a roll of papel hygienico.

It's certainly an item that has risen higher than inflation.

I wonder why people don't invest in toilet paper companies instead of FinTechs!
