    Hi all !

New guy here, and I have a quick question: has anybody received any parcels from outside Argentina now that the customs laws in Argentina have allegedly been changed? I'd like to send someone a pair of sandals from Amazon directly to her in Buenos Aires. My friend keeps insisting that import policies have already changed but she is basing it solely on articles in the Argentine media. Let me know please in advance. Please advise, and thank you on advance.

Hi Expatman , welcome on board!

The law only changed at the beginning of the month.

Still don't know any people who have brought stuff in.

Thanks. I simply do not trust what is being said in the newspapers...

I wouldn't trust what the media say about imports, either.

I don't have any experience and I am NOT willing to test it out. Whenever the puerta-a-puerta was advertised, reading the fine print you needed to meet certain criteria (clave fiscal nivel 2 de AFIP, domicilio fiscal). It was not like in Europe where you actually receive your parcel with no question asked (yes, there are random checks on customs duties, but you simply go to the post office and pay those).

This is what concerns me...the fine print. The whole 'fantastic' changes happening in Argentina by the new president is really aimed at globalist corporations giving more ease at pillaging the resources of that country, while giving the plebs the false hope it will benefit them.

Yes. Outside job for a change.

Expatman , I’d definitely wait until we all start hearing from people that this is actually working.

    And welcome to the forum!

I was browsing for a decorative pot on ML and I was surprised to find items from abroad. I had read about it in the news that ML was going to offer some items listed on Amazon, but I didn't know it would be so soon and also for lesser value items (I was thinking about electronics and clothes).

However, I don't know how many sales they will finalize given the costs. The math also doesn't add up as the same item, bought directly from amazon and shipped to argentina, is 25% cheaper.

2x blue pots in the US on amazon.com: 30 USD

If shipped to Argentina, add 50 USD in taxes and shipping === 80 USD in total

Same item on ML: 96,000 ARS or 94 USD plus 20,000 ARS of import costs, === 114 USD in total

Here is the fine print that confirm that you still need a clave fiscal Nivel 2 and a "domicilio fiscal" with ARCA. If Expatman 's friend has none (for example, if they are a tourist), zero chances to get the item delivered to your friend.

Plant pots are the last thing I'd be thinking of buying from abroad. :D

Yes - - in that case, you’re not restricted to Amazon or ML!
