I bought a Xiaomi Watch 2 with Google Wear on an impulse in Barcelona and even though it's really just a toy, it's fun to have.

I'm pleased to see that sitting heart rate is 77 and I have 97% oxy levels. Apart from that, I just get notifications from my phone.

I have a very simple Mi Band7 by Xiaomi, which I bought as a gift to myself after my diet. It was supposed to help me keep motivated through physical exercise tracking. It worked for a few months, then I lost interested.

However, I am very pleased to have discovered new features that I didn't consider when I purchased it.

    1) The timer (countdown) with different preset times (1-3-5-10-15-30 minutes, 1-2 hours) and customizable ones. I use it often when I cook to keep track of time. In the past I was using my phone, but then I forgot about it in another room and didn't hear it. Never burnt food anymore since I have been using my smartwatch.

    2) The alarm with vibration and no sound. Very useful when I have to get up early without waking up my husband. I simply go to bed with the smartwatch on. I call it my electronic tag.

The original band broke after two years, and this time I bought a metallic one in gold from a kiosko for 12,000 pesos. It has gone dirty quickly and it is heavier than the rubber band, but I find it a tad more elegant than the silicone black band.

I have disabled the health trackers as they sucked battery life, and also the notification from my phone as they were too distracting.

I've had two watches go on the blink this year leaving me now with only one. It's a Seiko divers watch which although far from being expensive does tend to attract too much attention for my liking. So I'm on the lookout for a new watch.....just something reliable more than bells and whistles. I've no idea how much watches cost here. If they're a rip-off, I'll just wait until we're in the UK.

    Get one in the UK.

The one in the UK will last longer than anything you buy here.

No smartwatch here. Just a fitness tracker that measures pulse, bp, O2 levels, sleep, etc - - but my interest is in making sure I walk at least 8 km/day.

Without the tracker, it’s too easy to lie to myself.

My missus bought a BP monitor which I'm forced to use whenever she's in nurse mode. She also bought a 'thingy' you put on the end of your finger which measures something.

I don't fancy having a watch that warns me every ten minutes I'm about to snuff it!!

The thingy is a pulse oximeter that measures your blood oxygen and yes, my wife is also constantly checking blood pressure.
