At the Academy Awards, you would get the award for Best Use of a Towel in a Dramatic Production.

Here’s a little Yellow Bird for added ambience. Can you work while sipping a rum drink with a paper umbrella in it?
I love the sound of breaking tiles in the morning.
I’d like that sound too, but not too early.
Maybe by the crack of noon.
Is that some of the tins going on already?

Almost all the metal is now in place.
This month the government removed the restrictions for exporting recycled metal. Like old metal roofing. I guess the old rule was thought to keep metal cheap for the locals, instead it was too cheap for anyone to bother recycling. Now it is a business to revive.

Interesting, but why it was restricted in the first place is a mystery to me.
Anyway, back on topic...
As you can probably see in the video and pictures, health and safety don't play a major part in this kind of work.
No gloves or any kind of protection at all, even when angle grinding. And these boys work in any temperatures.
It is just more comfortable to wear gloves when working with dirty and sharp materials. I never understand why it is not common here.
Is there any concern for your liability if a worker or pedestrian is hurt? Maybe the contractor has insurance coverage?

That's a good point, but you know how it is here. If it wasn't my roll of DANGER tape, they wouldn't have taped off the pavement.
Although it can be seen in some areas H&S Law doesn't exist here compared to the likes of the UK where I've been on many courses.....I used to teach it.
For example a few months ago I was sitting in the car across the road from a building site. I was thinking to myself how many rules/laws/ they were breaking when suddenly a metal beam came crashing down from the third floor of the block of flats they were building. It landed half on the pavement half on the road.. Just by chance nobody was passing and no cars were parked. If it had hit somone they'd have been a goner.
Excellent! Looks great!
Good stuff!!
Might get tested out next week.
That's what we're hoping.
The next job is painting the house again and the wood that the roofers replaced.
That's what we're hoping.
When you really want it to rain, it doesn't!!
You must be so glad you’re past that, Splinter . It looks really nice. 👍

Monday or Tuesday we should see rain and wet for most of next week. Bring it on!

We're glad the flying debris is now over!
No joke. It’s inconvenient to have to wear your helmet to go out for the mail!
