The Kirchner name and Peronist emblems, all in your face, populist propaganda, are slowly being removed. First it was the Kirchner Cultural centre, as if Peronism was the owner of Argentine culture, then the K gas pipeline and now the social security building on 9 de Julio is in the frame for either being demolished or converted. Either way, Evita's mural on both sides will come down.

I don't see Milei trying to rewrite history, but removing this kind of political dogma is a step forward in depoliticising the broken landscape.

Do you agree with these moves?

Absolutely! Coming from Europe, it all looks weird. The only time when we had all of this propaganda was during the Fascist years, which says it all.

I am surprised at the number of people here who didn't find it odd. Why don't they get that it is a way to slowly creep into your mind?

Many of the people who oppose removing the K names simply don’t like change, though of course there are the hard-core peronists too.

I do appreciate the gradual nature of the change, but am glad to see that change. Why honor the people who have so harmed the country?

We've got two new main roads into Chivilcoy named after the Kirchners.....forced to as part of the deal I imagine. What's most annoying are the massive overhead signs with the K names on them. How low class and a typical waste of money!!

It was silly that they tainted those places with the Kirchner name. That said, it is a huge waste of time and money to reverse what is already there. It is only being done as a hand waving distraction from the countries real problems. Removing Evita murals which represent Argentina culture, and are part of the foreign tourist experience is even sillier. Removing art is not a good look when viewed by future historians.

Milei already added a bust of Menem, so we know his version of populism thru hero worshipping is possible too. Though I do not know the story of why Menem was not already not in the hall of past presidents.
