1/ anyone moved money to bank account instead of cash pickup? any disadvantages (it seem the rate is same?)

2/ when I set the send order, there is no ID number to enter, so is it really just the name/address?

3/ anyone used a debit card recently, (I have Schwab), at ATM or as a payment (like at restaurant) do you know if I get the blue rate like WU?

I don't do the Western Union dance and I don't think many of the other members of this forum do either so this is probably not the best place to come for that information. There are other forums related to Argentina where they speak of little else but whilst I think it would be discourteous to our host for me to mention them by name here, they should be fairly easy to search for,

I occasionally bring in cash from WU directly to the wife's bank account.

Once the system is set up there are no drawbacks whatsoever.

The receiver must respond to a mail from WU Argentina asking for confirmation of the account and that they are not money launderers etc. This declaration must be renewed every 23/º5 months.

The cash is delivered to the bank account registered by the receiver.

Thank you GlasgowJohn , I assume this is the best rate as far as you know? vs wire transfer etc'?

do you happen to know if using debit card at ATM and to pay (like a credit card) also has good rate?

    I don't.

And to the best of my knowledge the majority of posters on this site don't rely on doing this either.

Which is why I said what I said.

I allowed GovUK to send my pocket money here every month. I have to say it was very nice of them to offer me the service. A couple of years down the line and I've not had any problems.

WU historically has better rates than regular wire transfers-

Sorry I don't have any experience using Non Argentine debit cards here.

If you pay by credit card , you will get a rate just below the MEP Rate
