All these years later, we are finally watching The Sopranos. Did any of you watch it, either the original run or on a streaming platform? If so, what did you think of it?

I was hooked and loved it. I can't remember where I saw it, originally. James Gandolfini and Lorraine Bracco are superb, not to mention Edie Falco, one of our favorite!

serafina , since you’re an Edie Falco fan, I imagine you watched “Nurse Jackie,” about an empathetic, excellent nurse who also happened to be addicted to drugs.
I’m having trouble staying with The Sopranos. If I want to watch lowlife thugs for whom there are no limits, I’ll watch news shows covering politics.

I watched during the syndicated rerun days on free TV. Not every episode or in order. I saw the last 2 seasons which I liked and appreciated how it ended.
They made the prequel origin story as a movie. It was good enough. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Many_Saints_of_Newark
Have you started a HBO thread here, or only asking about Sopranos?
A quick review of the best of HBO lists, Station Eleven is my most recommended. It is a quiet drama mini-series, so just ignore the dystopian days plot setting. Plus it was a breakout book before the COVID days. The Night Of was well done too.

aficionado, yes, I’m trying to start a HBO thread, although I’ll admit that, because I use safari, every search I do results in “can’t find.” So there may already be a HBO thread.
Will definitely look for Station Eleven and The Night Of. Thank you!
