Is your home Internet service data capped? What I mean is, if you go above say, 1TB per month, do you get charged extra?

I've never known this happen with our ISPs in Argentina, but it is capped on mobile data.

I'll be writing an article on this subject, hence the question.

I doubt our home Argentina ISP is capped. I could look at the fine print. All our Argentina cellular plans have a limit, so when that is reached they stop working until the next month or I add an extra data package for a certain number of days.

I don’t know about Oscar’s internet plan here n BsAs, so I can’t be helpful.

In the USA, we have unlimited usage on both internet and mobile phones. But the price is so high it seems they think EVERYONE is using their connection 24 hrs a day.

Does anyone still use dial up?

    Quote

Still, a handful of consumers have continued to rely on internet services connected over telephone lines. In the U.S., according to Census Bureau data, an estimated 163,401 households were using dial-up alone to get online in 2023, representing just over 0.13% of all homes with internet subscriptions nationwide.

It's still used for some card payment terminals as well.

Many People who live rural USA do have access to cell service, or high speed wired service. Also some no-cell rural customers might have landline interest, but not wanting to pay $80-100 for the only landline (or long distance WiFi) service option available. They just need very occasional service for email and chat communication, and head into to town where there is always a library with decent free high speed internet.
