Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar dead

    Israel has announced the death of Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has blamed Sinwar’s intransigence for the negotiations’ not moving forward. Is there reason to hope that there could be a meaningful ceasefire and that the remaining hostages may be released?

    Or will Netanyahu himself be shown to be the major stumbling block to negotiations?

    Hamas will simply harden their resolve, but I hope I'm wrong.
