Not many people can say they were rescued by helicopter two times in the same week.

    Quote from Rice

the bizarre conspiracy theories didn’t just arise from the ether. Desperate people do desperate things. The question is why anyone at all believes these things?

Most of the commentary I have read over the recent years, is that the conspiracies are intentionally spread by bad actors mostly to cause chaos. Many ridiculous made-up rumors thrown out into social networks. Once some grow, the owners of the social networks are happy to ease their spread among networks since it helps their business earn money and/or aligns with their political agenda.

Yes. Elon Musk of course has multiple reasons for allowing the disinformation to spread unchecked, but it seems to be multiplying and morphing on many platforms.

Ugh. Having recently gone through this myself, I couldn’t watch after the first few minutes. I hope he and his neighbors are getting the help they need, and that life will be back to normal for them before too many months.
