All the big chains will be closed on Monday as it's the Dia del empleado de comercio.

Get your shopping done early or use your local chino.

On the Day of the Scotsman in Argentina, will we all be required to eat haggis?

Must admit I've never been a haggis fan so it'll have to be the smoked salmon. Although I have to say like the prawns you get here the quality of the smoked salmon is more miss than hit.

We had Argie Atlantic smoked salmon a few weeks back. It was pretty decent.

Up until now we could only get Chilean stuff.

Same here, GlasgowJohn . Where did you find Argentine smoked salmon? Was it actually a thick chunk of smoked fish, or the flat, almost paste consistency sold in vacuum-sealed packages here?

The only stuff I've had is the Superbe brand. Thought it was okay at first but the last time I had it the quality wasn't too good....a bit dry.

    That's the one we had.

Only had it once and it was fine. There was a special offer in Coto and that's we we bought it.

I'll give it another go as it's been a long time since I last had it.

Monday is St. Jerome, which is the saint patron of translators. Hence, we won't have classes

That is hilarious! You can celebrate along with the supermarket employees, and won’t even have to wait for the Day of the Scotsman in Argentina!
