We bought so many electrical devices with UK plugs that it's going to be a hassle changing them to Arg style ones. I've done it before but would prefer to use travel adaptors.

Does anyone know the best place to buy these? On Mercadolibre the delivery charges are ridiculous, although the price isn't too bad. $5000 but a $4000 delivery charge!

We had the same issue when we moved here and brought over our European appliances. For high-rated appliances (such as hair-dryers, hair straighteners, irons, dishwasher) these small travel adapter are not suitable. For smaller one (shavers, phones), they work, but are rather bulky.

I think the cheapest solution would be to simply replace the plug. It involves some manual work, and it will invalidate the appliances warranty, but it is less clumsy and probably cheaper.

We did it for the vacuum cleaner, which had a schuko plug.

For my UK hair straightener, I actually had a suitable UK to EU (schuko) adapter when I lived in Italy, so I simply added a schuko to ARG adapter. Not cheap, but hair straightener are too power consuming to take a risk.

Yes, the watts are important. We bought a kettle which gobbles up 2500 watts, so a plug change would be safer.

So far I haven't had to change any plugs because I still have some UK extensions and reels. Also, with laptops, all you need to do is change the cable that plugs into the charger.

The Russell Hobbs kettle is top quality and boils much faster that the cheapo we have had for a few years.

Yes, that is what I like to change for laptops, etc… It is more common now for devices to have an external 2 piece transformer. This makes the plug end easily replaceable.

I found in my electric hardware bag a few adapters that I have bought from Temu for pennies.

    They are rates 250 V 10A

No ground for Shucko plugs but that's not an issue for smaller appliances as they are double insulated anyway.
