A US federal judge has ruled that Google violated antitrust laws in maintaining its dominance in online searches, partly by paying companies like Apple and Samsung to make Google automatically do search queries on smartphones and web browsers.
“Google is a monopolist, and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly,” Judge Mehta said in his ruling.
Similar lawsuits have been filed against Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram), Apple, and Amazon.
It doesn't surprise me about Google monopolising adverts and searches.
They're even beginning to disable ad-blockers in their Chrome browser

I’m not familiar with the laws at a deep level but people DO have a choice.
