US federal judge rules against Google

  • A US federal judge has ruled that Google violated antitrust laws in maintaining its dominance in online searches, partly by paying companies like Apple and Samsung to make Google automatically do search queries on smartphones and web browsers.


    “Google is a monopolist, and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly,” Judge Mehta said in his ruling.


    Similar lawsuits have been filed against Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram), Apple, and Amazon.

    I’m not familiar with the laws at a deep level but people DO have a choice.

    I’m not suggesting there’s no issue with such matters.

    Yeah, you can change your browser. I'm just going to use it for web development....(a private project)
