Being familiar with Southport due to my sister's family as well as my mother having lived there for years it was even more shocking to hear the news coming in. :(

Yes obviously I know the town too. Shocking and upsetting. The pain for the families is unthinkable.

It’s generally a quiet genteel town normally.

I gather there are disturbances further afield tonight as well

Keir Starmer pitched up, said a few carefully -chosen words, got a whole load of earache and then fucked off in minutes .

Mainly right wing nutcases on social media, blamed immigrants. In the UK, under 18s can't be named. How these nutjobs ever managed to obtain the name is beyond me, but the police have claimed that isn't the person who they arrested, and not going to give out names for legal reasons

There has already been violence instigated by the EDL. It's been well reported.

I can't see them stopping at accusing Muslims being the ones causing the problems

Not a “Muslim immigrant,” I take it? The article said that his parents and brother have been moved to safety, but failed to say whether the perpetrator is a British citizen.

Very good decision by the judge, to release information in order to prevent additional anti-immigrant rioting.
