I just read an article in El Pais that gave me more questions than answers. Does Milei intend to increase the retirement age immediately or gradually? If immediately, the sudden requirement to work an extra 10-15 years before being able to receive their promised benefits would disproportionately disadvantage the elderly.

Will the intended reforms include bringing into line the privileged pensions of former presidents, judges, military, diplomats, et alia?

How does the govt propose to handle the almost 40% who work in black and never contribute to the social security system, yet receive a minimum pension regardless? Apparently one solution being considered is excluding these people from the social security system (why were they ever included?) but making them eligible for state aid like that given to the “most disadvantaged families.” Clearly that is a long overdue reform, as is reform of the “privileged pensions” system.

I read about this as well and 70, just like that, would cause mayhem.

    See what happened in France?

    Argentina is bankrupt

The proposal makes economic sense and brings Argentina in line with other countries

But he will lose votes with this one.

I haven't a clue how the state pension works here. However from what I've been told it seems to be like most other state run things...a friggin' mess.
