Wifey got a call earlier telling her persons had been seen on land of here taking wood. She called the rural police and off we went to meet them at the location next to the busy Ruta 5.

On the way she heard from the police that when they arrived noone could be seen but they saw what remained of the cut trees. When we arrived it was obvious to me and the police that due to the size of what remained of the cut trunk they must have been doing it over the last couple of days or more. They also must have had a lorry to take the massive amount of cut wood away. Nothing can be done now so best forgetting about it. The three police officers were very pleasant to deal with....especially the one with the lipstick and nail varnish.

    That's awful!

I love those avenues of Eucalyptus that I see on my rides going west and south on my bike. In fact, I may well have ridden past your trees a few times over the years.

It's even worse than vandalism and reminds me of the Sycamore at Hadrian's Wall that was horrifically felled last year. If I had land, I'd fill it with trees.

Didn't take any. However the last time we had dealings with the police the story and pictures were in La Razon the next day. The police woman that day was a nice bit of stuff as well.

To be honest today was the first time we've been to that land in yonks. I'm not surprised they took advantage. Don't mind someone taking wood that's fallen to keep the house warm but these bastards were obviously in it for money.

How awful! Who knows how long it took those trees to grow so big. The idea that they were felled for profit is really terrible.

Just as I was about to open a beer the missus got a phone call informing her the wood stealers were back cutting the felled eucalyptus trees. Our informant had already called the police so off we went. When we arrived the two blaggards were being questioned by the same officers as before.

The two were just young lads who accepted they'd been caught red handed and fully cooperated. Forms were filled out and signed, apologies given for their shameful deeds then off they went in their empty truck.

Did they give you some cash in lieu of payment for what they stole earlier?

More than likely. Our informant will be watching.

At this point, you could give it to Splinter ! The harm is done, at least don't give them the satisfaction to get away with it. If they keep comin', the police is going to get tired to go there for nothing.

The trunk that's left is massive and would need a heavy duty chain saw with a large blade to cut it up into manageable lengths . You'd then have to chop it into logs. If you survive doing all that it'd have to be stored it until it dries out before using it. Bugger that. ^^
