I know Anthony Bourdain was very well-known but somehow he passed me by over the years. I don’t know how.
He made a video in Buenos Aires.
I never followed him either, but this is great!
I’m blocked from seeing the video. Probably because Hulu streams Parts Unknown. Loved that series, but somehow managed to miss the episode on BsAs, which was said to be one of the best and one of the most beautiful.
I hope to see it in a couple of months when we get back to Argentina! Sorry I didn’t realize it was on Hulu, because until last week, we were paying US$83/month for Hulu.
Kitchen Confidential?
Ah! I’d like to read that too.
“Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly”is the book that took him from obscurity to celebrity. An enjoyable read, though I can never again see restaurants, their staffs or food in quite the same way. And I read it probably 20 years ago.
We watched this last night and the direction gave a real taste of BA, but unfortunately it stayed in San Telmo and La Boca when we were hoping for a more expansive view.

Yes most of the other travel programmes I've seen about BA tend to follow a similar pattern. The restaurant in Boca has certainly been shown on a couple of Britsh programmes.
Still worth a watch though.
GlasgowJohn , do you remember the name of the restaurant in La Boca? Was it El Obrero?
It’s too bad they didn’t show more of the city, but I guess parts of San Telmo and La Boca are cinematically the most picturesque.
