Anouk Aimée, the energy magic French actress who brought to life the sexy, aloof character of the title role in Claude Lelouche’s 1966 film “A Man and a Woman,” has died at 92 in her home in Paris.

Although that role earned her international recognition and an Oscar nomination, she had already caused a stir in Europe for her roles in Federico Fellini’s “81/2” and “La Dolce Vita” in the early 1960’s.

She was best known for her European films. A Man and a Woman was a breakthrough film for British and American audiences in 1966.

I was only a nipper back then.

Of course! But it was a classic that endures to today.

I've never seen her films, but she was strikingly attractive. I'll see if I can track her films down.

She was very sexy. Just a lift of the eyebrow….

[I see that autocorrect changed “enigmatic” to “energy magic.” But that’s for another thread. I need to pay more attention to proofing.]

So, Splinter , see if you can find A Man And A Woman. I wonder how it has aged in the ensuing 58 years.
