When was the last time? I can't remember when they last made a fool of themselves.

Me thinks, it was 1996 when the event was in England itself

EDIT: Nope, not true. It was Euro 2020

We qualified for 202o Euros via the Nations Cup backdoor, so they never counted for me.

The 2020 tournament took place in 2021 because of Covid, I think.

But this is the first tournament that we have qualified for normally in years.

And an easy opening game against the Germans!

Cringeworthy is not the word to describe this.

    So embarrassing ......

But at the time I was a fully paid-up member of the Army.

    Ally Macleod was GOD......

It was that bastard Cubillas from Peru that brought us down to earth

Still Archie Gemmill scored the goal of the tournament against Holland....

It counts for a lot of national football teams, so why not you?

I remember that goal, living in Portsmouth at the time.

I used to go to all the Scotland games with a Scotland jersey and a couple of tartan scarves - No kilt though. I don't think they were popular at the time.

I used to go to all the Hampden games in the 70/80's. However wasn't into it that much to follow them abroad except Wembley. Wearing a tartan scarf was as daring as I got. =O

Sadly I've never ever worn a kilt. It's something my missus finds strange. If I could turn the clock back I'd definitely have hired and brought the outfit here to wear at our wedding. :banana-with-kilt-smiley-emoticon:

Back in the seventies and eighties, it wasn't the done thing to wear kilts to the football,,,

Tartan scarves were about as daring as it got.

Must look out a picture of me properly dressed at a wedding to give you all a thrill..

We qualified through the back door.

All comps during COVID and just after should have an asterisk after the winner's name.
