On 25 de Mayo St there's the oldest and last shoe shine shop still in operation and founded by an Italian immigrant in 1924.
You can still get a shine for $1300 (about a dollar) and Casa Argento is operated by the founder's grandson. Clearly it's not as busy as it used to be, but I may well pop in when I'm next in town and get my motorcycle boots buffed up.
