I was standing collecting the items when bells rang out and folk close by started clapping. Shame we'd only spent 19000 pesos.
Seems they're runnng some sort of promotion where every hundredth customer doesn't pay.

Afraid not......2 bags of crisps and 3 bottles of Listerene was the lot.
Wow! What a haul! But that was 19,000 pesos??

Yes.
We were passing by and I remembered I needed crisps as I'd forgotten to get them when we did the weekly shop earlier in the week. When the missus saw the Listerine was on offer she just grabbed three bottles.
They wanted her to pose for a photograph standing next to the prize promotion board but she refused.

And he got a deal! mouthwash for less than 6 USD a bottle is a rare find. nowadays. Not to mention the fancy Listerine...
Yesterday, I went to buy veggies and bought 4 persimmons.... for 6 USD. Of course, the price was not displayed, but I'd never guessed they could be that expensive.
And he got a deal!
Indeed...the normal Listerine price is a crazy amount. The crisps were on offer as well or the total could easily have been around 30000 without the discounts.
Yikes. I want to encourage y’all to again pick up the Grocery Prices thread started a few months ago by, I think, Splinter , please?

The missus and I gave up monitoring prices as they still seem to change for the worse every flippin' week. If we need it we take it!!
I've noticed lots more offers in the supermarkets recently. So if it's something we regularly use we grab it while we can. Having said that I suspect they inflate the price prior to make the 'offer' look more attractive. A common scam used here.
… and everywhere else in the world!

Not in the UK where there are strict rules they have to follow regarding the pricing of offers.
