I couldn't do without my fags or booze so that'd rule me out from going. At least there are some ladies there to make the company more interesting.
Recently I watched a film called ISS where Russian and American astronauts were trapped on the ISS due to a global conflict having broken out and each team was given orders to eliminate the other.
It was very realistic...
DEI at its finest

I do not know what that means. The article did not mention that.

Well, I can guess that they've been employing people on the basis of a) gender b) sexuality c) religion in order to tick boxes, basically, not if a person who ticks either of the above has the right qualifications and necessary experience in the field they want to work in

People who do not work there can only guess. My guess is the corporate leadership wants to take higher profits, while also not wanting to pay qualified people to do the job, and also do not want to train new young people along with enough incentives to create a lifetime career.

That maybe correct also, but like in the UK, they have to employ a good percentage of people that are of minorities. Otherwise, they can get into trouble with the law if someone claims they're not
SpaceNut , I’m rather shocked at the implication that members of demographic minorities, women (thank you very much?), and whatever religious groups you refer to, would not be as capable or trainable as white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant men.
The charge of DEI is tossed around by far-right cultists because it fits their exclusionary world view. I think the rest of us need to be careful not to fall into that all-too-easy trap.
Although we can’t guess the cause of Boeing’s problem from what I read in the article, I would point out that the article says only this:
“The lack of a trained and qualified workforce increases the risk that the contractor will continue to manufacture parts and components that do not adhere to NASA requirements and industry standards."
To me, it sounds as if the spokesperson is saying that Boeing contractors aren’t properly training their workers, who then are unqualified to manufacture the top-quality components needed and expected by Boeing. Period.

As I've said, I would have no problems employing minorities, but they have got to fit the bill if I were in charge, not just tick boxes. I wouldn't employ whites and straight people if they didn't fit the bill.
Somehow, I think some people have gotten above themselves to push their luck
Boeing as a company is on a knife-edge right now. One wonders given their pre-existing issues how and why this venture went ahead when it did.
And then there’s NASA in the mix too.
Neither Boeing nor NASA can communicate a sense of worry for obvious reasons but Im pretty sure they see they’re in a really bad place just now.
Imagine being a fly on the space station wall as Boeing and NASA do what they can to reassure these 2 Astronauts that all will be well.
“Did we say February 2025? Oh, sorry, we meant February 2039. Enjoy, and take lots of pictures!”
The capsule returned, but without the astronauts inside
If I were they, I wouldn’t be feeling very confident.
And you thought that Boeing's problems couldn't get worse
I think its time they grounded Boeing planes.
I seem to recall several stories over the years of bits falling off aircraft. It's usually after they've had servicing carried out on them by aircraft engineers. So in many cases it's not the aircraft manufacturers fault.
I seem to remember an incident involving a Japanese airliner that had the same problem, and it went all the way back to the design problem of the aircraft that it was harder to maintain that plane. Odd that the tail cone that had ripped apart, was the cause of the tragic incident
This is an opportunity I will leave for others.
Who would be buying?
