Automatic Rental Cars

    I'm planning on paying a visit to Argentina from the US to scope it out for a couple of months to see if it's a place I'd want to retire in. Has anyone had any experience with renting a car there? Is it possible to find a car with an automatic transmission? That also brings up another question. If I wanted to stay, is it possible to buy an automatic car at a dealer? If not, do they allow you to import a car, or maybe bring one across the border from a neighboring country that has them? :any-help:

    You can rent automatic but they are difficult to track down and are expensive / you will need to use one of the multinationals and book ahead of time.
