When you put your back out

I should be more careful with my back as I've put it out before. This time lifting and moving things without being more careful, so consequently I'm walking like an old man, all stooped over.

On the other hand, it seems walking, like we did today, is good for it instead of sitting for hours, which definitely is crippling when you try to stand up afterwards.

I once cricked my back reaching for shampoo in the shower, but it was much worse that time. On another occasion, trying to move a desk a fraction of an inch. After that one, I was almost completely immobile and the only remedy was a chiropractor.

I've also picked up Adri's cold, so I could now be described as 'a bit crook' as they say in Australia. But over here I would be described as a 'viejo choto.'

Good luck Splinter I know nothing from experience about such matters but a good chiropractor seems to be like a wizard. Let us know how you progress.

I used to suffer sore backs more often when I lived in the UK. Despite often lifting and carrying 22kg bags of dog food as well as doing other physical labours I've never suffered a serious sore back during my years here. Still get the odd twinge like I got the other day after chopping logs but an ibuprofen soon makes it go away.

I suspect the colder weather in Scotland was to blame a lot of the time, while the warmer climate here prevents it.

I have a weak back and it is a family issue. It is one of the reasons why I lost the weight.

Regardless, I am still suffering of back pain, they just moved from lower to upper back.

In the last months, my neck, shoulders and forearms have been sore. Massages and exercise helped, but didn't solve it. I hate sitting all days at my desk now that it hurts a lot, but I have to. I am trying to limit non-essential time in front of the computer (such as for leisure or entertainment).

My neck and shoulders hurt even in my sleep. There is no relief (except alcohol).

Must remember that relief cure the next time I get a sore whatever. :thumbup:Will my missus believe it though? :nono:

It does come with sides effect: inability to work and concentrate, nightmares.

Last on my list: having to sit an exam of Microelectronics in German, being bit by a tiny snake (could have been the cat's nails against my leg), having my work rejected, being in a difficult situation and unable to scream for help in Spanish even though I had the grammar right and then not being understood or made fun of because of my accent.

Maybe I should avoid cheap alcohol? Watch this space...

No, you don't want to be giving up cheap alcohol serafina . The only alternative is expensive alcohol and there's nothing good about that.

But serafina has a sound and rigourous alcohol expenditure plan. USD$3 for a bottle of wine if I remember correctly. It's a watertight budget for alcohol.

You can buy, this week at least, decent wine at 3USD a bottle.

I sway from wine to beer ad sometimes back again depending on the pricing at the end of the week.

Sometimes I am swayed of course by posters in-store , which makes me get the calculator out.

Especially when you don't see the 0.1% alc on the label.

Though crowd, GlasgowJohn . I would say that wine sounds like a safer bet, unless they have invented 0% alcohol wine. :th_giggle01:
