Can you explain how it works?

I do it with my library in USA. I visit that library website, and ask to checkout or put the book on hold until they have it available. I only choose books that are in the Kindle format, which is most ebooks. Also can use the Libby app which most libraries are partnered. There is no limit except X number of loans at the same time.

When I check out, my account is connected to my Amazon Kindle account, so from checkout I am redirected to Amazon. I could electronically send it from Amazon Kindle “My content “ section to my kindle device, though I prefer to download and transfer by hand via USB cable.

Audio books are mostly (or all) only available to listen using the Libby app on computer, phone, or tablet. Some ebooks, or very few,, are forced to read in Libby. I think, Magazines are only Libby

Thanks, aficionado . I am using the Send-to-Kindle page and also the app. It is much easier than using Calibre, which is what I was using in the past.

The Amazon methods to send to the Kindle are convenient. Still, I keep my Kindles always offline, never updated, or data analyzed, or given new advertisements by Amazon. For this reason I manually copy books to the to kindle USB mounted drive just like any other simple file copy. Calibre is good for book management on the computer, but not needed for transfer to kindles.

    Hello everybody,

I am a firm aficionado of the Kindle, even though I have quite a book library.

For travelling it is unbeatable...where would I put over 100 books in my little VW camper??!!

I am not however a customer of Mr Bezos' corner book shop.

    I use : https://ebook-hunter.org/

I make an annual donation and can download 5 books at any time.

I use Calibre for book management.

    Cordialement,

    That sounds like a deal, Sarran1955 .

Our library has ebook apps that we downloaded but haven’t used, so I can’t help. Sorry!
