One of the biggest miscarriages of justice in UK legal history has been exposed and publicised in this TV series which I would love to watch. It's an ITV production and a must see. Might have to use a VPN.

Mr Bates vs the Post Office review – Toby Jones is perfect in a devastating tale of a national scandal
A starry cast takes on one of the worst miscarriages of justice in British history. They’re the ideal way in to skulduggery so terrifying it could be a Black…

I remember watching a programme in the UK many years ago about this. Those who had been accused were all such nice lovely people it was obvious to me they weren't fraudsters.

Glad to see they've finally been believed but ridiculous it's taken so long.

Innocent men and women went to prison for crimes they didn't commit and some committed suicide. It's truly heart-breaking, but the worst part is the cover up by the Post Office and Fujitsu.

Disgusting, sickening and with such tragic consequences.

Paula Vennels was CEO of the Post Office for seven years having previously been a parish priest:

    Quote

She was awarded her CBE for services to the Post Office and charity at the start of 2019, shortly before she stepped down – ending a seven-year period as chief executive during which she collected more than £4.5m in pay.

About £2.2m of those earnings were performance-related bonuses, mostly linked to a strategic plan to make the business sustainably profitable, and amassed while many of those the Post Office was pursuing were being made bankrupt and suffering unfathomable personal ordeals.

Although she has handed back the outrageous CBE she was awarded in the outdated honours system peculiar to the UK, she has shown very little remorse and should be held accountable. Better still, would be to force her to pay back the astronomical amounts of money she was paid as retribution which should then be distributed to the wrongly convicted postmasters.

Return of CBE marks ignominious end to career of chief executive during company’s pursuit of wrongful prosecutions

A feeking disgrace to be honest

A mate wrote to me this morning , "To call it a miscarriage of justice is akin to describing a drive-by shooting as a “traffic accident”."

Seems Tony Blair the PM at the time was advised that there were problems with the system. Mandelson told him best not to interfere though.

Tony Blair was warned Horizon IT system could be flawed, documents show
The then-PM was told IT system now at the centre of the Post Office scandal was "possibly unreliable".
