The press was not pleased that he held the swearing-in of his ministers in a closed session with no TV cameras, but his reason, apparently was that it wasn't a 'show'.

We know that tomorrow, Tuesday, the new economy minister, Caputo, will announce new 'shock' measure for the economy and a devaluation has to happen.

All we know so far is that many public works will be suspended, the central bank won't be allowed to print any more worthless pesos, political public employees will be booted out (hopefully) and it's possible that the official USD exchange rate my be around $650.

As you said in the other thread it's his honesty that's very refreshing to see compared to the last bunch of tossers. They just governed with the sole aim of being re-elected. They didn't give a stuff what the long term negative effects their actions would have on the country.

Not sure that re-election was their SOLE aim, UK Man . Don't forgot their very diligent job of completing Xtina's thievery.

They've also been very adept at gaining supporters over the years by handing out gratuities to keep them loyal. Probaly explains how they managed to get the sizeable vote they got.

The man who threw a glass bottle (as opposed to a plastic one) towards Milei yesterday will be detained and it's known that he has 'previous' and is a hardline ultra K from Entre Rios.

What amazes me is that he wasn't picked up straight away considering how much security there was.

The bottle hit one of the bodyguards. Imagine if this had been more serious.

The government annulled the decree signed by Alberto Fernández to grant himself custody abroad.

    Fuck yeah!

Milei's government spokesman is Manuel Adorni and every time I watch him, I can't help but think of Gary Walsh from the satirical TV series, Veep.

To grant himself personal security paid for by the state.

    Bad information.

Custodio - bad translation of the Spanish word custodio

    Which means bodyguard or security.

Ah. Alberto approved his own bodyguard detail.

Why would he need that abroad? It is the people here who have reason to wish him ill.

Most Europeans won't have a clue who the hell he is anyway.

I'm enjoying watching Milei dismantle the state apparatus which is engineered to benefit only friends and family of those in power.

He's going to sell off state assets including public buildings, state run companies, vehicles and even make politicians and civil servants pay for their own transport and mobile phones. Quite right!

Here's a video where Milei shows us his office and desk as well as the lucky winner of his last salary as a deputy, which he has been giving away every month.

There is plenty of Argentinians in Spain that will recognize him and insult him.

Don't you recall the Ministry of Health that had us "incarcerated" in our own homes while he was giving away VIP vaccines?
