This is another gentle reminder that booze sales are prohibited tomorrow from 20.00 hrs until three hours after the polls close.

Legal drugs are available from chemists that may remain open.

Illegal drugs are probably available as well if you know where to buy them.

GlasgowJohn , one of your many important functions on this forum is your ongoing Elections Booze Alert, without which many of us might be high and dry, starting on the Saturday nights.

    Thank you! 🥂

I always like an independent post for this piece of valuable information. I am always worried that it would be lost in the election thread.

I would also like to deny that I am on a retainer from the Argentine Wines and Spirits Suppliers Federation.

We got our booze in yesterday and I snuck into the Chinese in La Lucila and found a bottle of Havana Rum for $7500 because Coto had sold out of their stock of $5600 per bottle. It's a bloody lottery today.

By the way, I say I snuck in because I'm banned from that Chinese by the aggressive harridan that rules it following my swearing match with her last year. I peeked through the window to make sure she wasn't at the till, like in a spy movie.

I remember that encounter, but would greatly enjoy a retelling, in case getting away with breaching the castle walls has put you in the mood - -

Glad you started a new one as I'd forgotten about this farcical booze ban.

Our pre-election score was limoncello made by a restaurant in the ‘hood.

A recently-described “rocket fuel” Italian fresh lemon liqueur that is kept in the freezer and served frosty cold.

Had a very disappointing outing last night. We knew about the curfew and headed for a cerveceria at 7:30 pm for a beer and some food because I wasn’t in the mood to cook and wanted to save time by combining a break from work and dinner.

At Desarmadero it was packed. We asked for a table for 2 three times to different waiters who promised to check it for us and never got back. At 7:50 pm a table cleared and we sat down. We immediately placed our order with a waitress: 2 beers with fries.

She took the order and at 8:25 we hadn’t yet been served. Meanwhile, around us waiters were handing out plastic glasses to exchange for glass glasses (seriously, English language?!). We called again the waiter (we did several attempts, so we got a different waiter) and asked about our order because we’d been waiting for 30 minutes. He said he was too late to serve beer. We pointed that we placed the order before the curfew, and what about the food?!

He said that they couldn’t sell beer past 8pm. I asked “then why did your colleague took the order?!” He shrugged and checked the ordering app on his phone and said there was no such order (!!!). Then I asked about the fries and he said no fries either.

We politely told him to fuck off and left.

At 8:30 pm we were back at home, drinking beers in the refrigerator and cooking. We are at 9:10 pm. Almost two hours wasted because of the shitty customer service

I hope that one day one of the candidates will have "the end of the booze ban" as a major policy decision.

How do you politely tell someone to ''fuck off''? ^^

I suspected it wasn't going to end well when you mentioned your arrival time. :nono:
