But remember, as the government thinks we are irresponsible it will not be possible to buy alcohol from Saturday 8pm until after the polls close on Sunday.

My usual red. My favorite blonde was out of stock. They said it would be back on Saturday but now that there is the alcohol ban for the elections, I am not even sure they will be able to sell it.

In amongst the humour of it, it’s a good point! I know other countries do the same too. Thailand for example.
Maybe it would actually be better if Argentines were plastered when they vote. It couldn’t be any worse than when they’re sober.

I wouldn’t count on it. For our part, we’re going to get on a train, throw a dart on where to get off, roam about the countryside, and see if we can find anyone who will invite us to an asado.

We learned years ago, not to waste our time going to a restaurant on Saturday night or all day Sunday. Bummer.

Maybe it is just another trick to play with the economy? As soon as 6 PM was approaching last Saturday, I went back to the brewery to buy more beer. The lady look at me in an odd way "Weren't you here before?" and I told her "I am not a drunkard, I just can't stand the idea that you can't buy booze when you want!"
