    Smoke and mirrors trick

BBC News - 'Shrinkflation' isn't a trend – it's a permanent hit to your wallet

Products are getting smaller, and you're paying the same. The problem won't go away, even if the economy rebounds and inflation abates.

Is a pint of beer still a pint? ^^

This started years ago when a 20 pack of some cigarettes became 19....goodness knows what it is now.

Yes I've noticed that. I tend to avoid those as well unless they're on a very good offer.

My baccy has gone down from 40g to 30g, Doritos from 140g to 120g etc etc, but the price pro rata is higher anyway due to inflation.

In the US, a weird food anomaly has always been that hot dogs were sold 10 per package, while hot dog buns were sold 8 per package.

Shrinkflation has cured that. Now both are sold 8 per pkg. problem solved!
