If you earn at least 800 USD/month, you're doing better than 90% of Argentinians

The National Institute of Statistics (INDEC) published a report stating that those earning more than 280,000 pesos (about 800 USD at the official rate) are in the top 10% earners of the Nation.

As usual, no idea how they came to this number, given that Argentina is quite dishomogeneous - living in Puerto Madero can't compare to the "interior".

I am posting this since the question "how much do I need to retire in Argentina?" comes up often.

As for us, we have recently looked at how much we spent in 2022, and we averaged 1100 USD/month for the two of us. We own, but we still pay condo fees (about 50-80 USD per month). We are not counting 2023 since every month we had issues with the 23 y.o. old car and it added up quite a lot.

Rice , I think they simply don't pay and put the place as a "bien personal", and as such (your primary residence) it cannot be confiscated.

It is in the news today that a numerologist (not a data analyst) was hired by Banco Nación for her services. I guess there was no magician available locally, so they had to rely on the best "made up in the air" number maker available. This sort of news is something that wouldn't be taken for serious abroad, but it is VERY TRUE in Argentina. It literally is a circus.

All in all, the numerologist got paid 2500 USD (blue rate of 700) over 6 months for her "coaching services", whereas the Director gave a rise for herself and she earned a staggering 15k USD for her first month on the job.

It seems she also put her ex-husband in a high-level position, and to do so she had to transfer other two employees... of which one to Miami.

I am not sure who she pissed to make this go public, because it sounds such a win-win for everyone involved.
