Argentine News Getting Greater Exposure In The Uk?

  • Only thinking out loud here but I’m pretty sure I’m noticing some amount of reality of it the past 2 months or so.

I know online algorithms steer us all this way and that but I’m seeing hard evidence of a much higher level of news in the UK of what’s going in the Argentine,

  • It is hard to say since our feed are tailored based on our profiling, internet history, browsed content, content of messages, chats and email.

My mother keep sending me alarming pieces of news on Milei from Italy. It seems the most striking attribute they find is that he allegedly cloned his favorite dog and loves tantric sex. Oh, and that he wants to abolish the Central Bank.

    Not exactly a balanced reporting.

Have you seen much on BBC News? It doesn't give much coverage to Argentina from my experience.

  • I think it probably depends on whether one gets news filtered through an intermediary such as Facebook, Yahoo or MSN or whether one reads it directly from the news source. Even direct news sites sometimes have different versions. The Guardian announced this week that it is adding a European version to its UK, US, Australian and International ones. Just click on the masthead to choose the version you want to read.

  • I get the occasional call from friends who are selling stuff down this way to find out what is happening and for me to suggest a strategy for Argentina.

My advice for potential investors is always hang on for a few months until the elections are over and once we know who has won , try and work out what the next four years holds for us all.

In general I would say , not any greater or less coverage than before.

But my oldest sister did call to ask me if MileI wore a wig....

  • People have been asking the same question about British MP Michael Fabricant for years

  • The same old Argentine chant of "Hay que esperar." until you wonder what exactly is the next thing you need to wait for before making a big decision.
