Years ago, I subscribed to La Nación, but when I decided to cancel my subscription, it was so hard to cancel that I vowed to stay away in the future.

I’m still on their mailing list, and weekly there are almost irresistible offers for cheap subscription rates. I say “almost” irresistible because, recalling the hassle of canceling, I have resisted.

When McDonald’s participated in Club La Nación, we used the card for almost daily ice cream cones in hot weather. Now I see they no longer participate.

I think I’m remembering that Coto didn’t make it easy to get their Club La Nación discount. There are no real restaurants. We aren’t close to a cinema. Am I missing something?

Do any of you subscribe? If so, which member benefits do you use?

You seem to have a lack of choice when it comes to restaurants and cinemas, which is unfortunate (or fortunate)

I don't subscribe to any media outlets, simply because most talk absolute shyte

Regarding Maccies, I know you have a severe lack of choice, hence the reason why I don't go to them for eating out. I go to KFC and Burger King, or some local fast food outlets

Yikes! Fast food burgers in the land of beef?? I’ve never had any chain fast food sandwiches, but those little McDonald’s DDL ice cream sundaes with hot fudge sauce hit the spot during a long, hot walk.

I have never been involved with LaNacion ir Clarin discount Clubs.

The discounts are just not exciting enough to change my purchasing habits - 10% of gas when you fill up the car sound exciting but they limit you to one or two dollars total saving. the gas/ petrol thing is a joke. They limit you to 7000 pesos per operation ( to get 700 back) on a given day of the week. It costs 14 mil to fill up the car.

EQDSO is a member. There's a worthwhile discount on shopping at Coto every Monday and Wednesday. The discount can be added to other discounts which are available at the same time so for instance, one of the banks offers her 20% at Coto on Mondays when she uses their card; Monday is one of the Club La Nacio shopping days too so there's an additional 15% off the original bill as well. If you go to lanacion.com.ar there is a link on the top right hand side to Club La Naion and you can see all the benefits on offer

Interesting. If it is as you suggest then I wonder if our local Coto got the memo from HQ?

All controlled by centrally controlled IT systems nowadays.

I get 15% off in Coto on Mondays and Wednesdays for being over 60. As soon as I give them my DNI , the discount kicks in

Must check to see what can accumulate with what.

Since I don’t have a DNI, I’m guessing I could be 120 and still not that discount, GlasgowJohn .

But a 15% discount isn’t enough to inspire, anyway.

Admittedly, I would easily go to macs for them and choc milkshake, but I can't stand their rubber tasting burgers, which have been through many process of being smashed into what they call "meat paste"

“Meat paste.” Well thank you very much, SpaceNut , for that appetizing thought.

    It’s just lunchtime here, too.

I'd rather go to Burger King, their burgers are excellent

Right, Coto does not let you double up on discounts. Beef and other things are also usually not included in promotions. Each item says if other promotions are allowed as you browse. Yes, the ClubNacion discount is 15% on Mon/Wed, but once per month it is 20% on that first or second Wed of the month without limit. Since 2020 that is the only time we stock up on bulk items from Coto including wine, some frozen fish and lamb which are included. I realize there are bank cards that give even better promotion though typically have a limit on the kickback amount.
