My favourite gardening trick nowadays is to hide from the missus and do sod all.

Roses are quite easy to root just in water. Leave the rice for your curry.

Oh yes. Was in Oxford for a student semester of poverty, but did manage fish & chips or curry once in awhile. (Usually dinner was Campbell’s Soup or something from Sainsbury’s larder-)

Indeed. Noticed the leaf and flower buds have been bursting out on a lot of trees and shrubs, especially during the last few days. The birds have been shagging as well.
