Whilst many things change one thing stays the same.

I looked back at the pioneer members just now - -

In the first year+, barely a handful of us were trying to get things rolling. Remember grasping at straws, to come up with subjects of interest?

Much more fun now, with different points of view coming from every angle! One of the many aspects of this forum that distinguish it from many others is the civil tone and clear mutual respect. I think we all appreciate that!

Haha. Yes, most of us were temporarily or permanently banned from The Other Place. Mostly innocently the first time, but after that, for sheer insubordination.

Funny you should use that analogy….

It's definitely a badge of honour to get banned from the other place. Wear it proudly!

… and yet, we all know people who were rudely banned, waited out the punishment time, and went right back to posting.

Don’t ban me for this but, full disclosure, I look on there once or twice a week but don’t post.

It can be a decent resource for some things but with too many unstable characters.

It feels more like being amongst friends here with common interests and where we all get little insights into each others lives.

It’s a rare quality of an an online forum.

I mostly stay away from it. The main reason being it takes an age for the pages to load for some reason. Only happens after I log in which I find strange. Are they spying on me?

I remember when I first joined the forum!!! Still love to read Splinter's articles on DCT!!!!
