Have you seen Shonda Rhimes’ Bridgerton, set in a Regency England in which Queen Charlotte and many of the upper class people were black? The premise is so counterfactual that we started watching with a bias.
As we watched, we started realizing that this series gave us a glimpse into what life would have been like if slavery and racism had never existed, and people were just people.
