In 1911 the "La Lucila" palace was commissioned, in Vicente Lopez, Province of Buenos Aires. Its owners returned to inaugurate it in 1914 after living in Europe for two years. 

 When the head of the family died, some of his children offered it to the Naval Center, the government of the Province of Buenos Aires and the National Executive Branch, all of which rejected it for budgetary reasons.

This article in La Nacion is very comprehensive and in fact, the now demolished building is literally around the corner from where we live.
