Online supermarket shopping....anyone do it?

  • We have a Vea Supermercado and along with La Anonima often do the weekly shop there. Trouble is, some Vea offers are only available online which is a right PITA!! This last few days I've been trying to take advantage of one of these online offers. All goes well until stage 3 the payment page When I click the link it doesn't do anything. Tried several times and the result is always the same. The missus has had simiar problems with La Anonima's online site.

Anyone else had problems with supermarket online shopping?

  • We just restarted doing it with Coto, as I was getting pissed off carrying loads of soft drinks from the supermarket to the car and then from the car to the house.

So now we do a fairly big online shop once every two or three weeks which tends to include 30-36 bottles of mineral water , juices , sports drinks, colas and tonic waters. Plus anything else that is bulky

So far no problems with payment

UK Man , have you tried changing browser?

  • Good to hear that, GlasgowJohn . Do you buy produce online too, and if so, has that been satisfactory?

if you are referring to fresh produce we tend to buy that directly from the fruit shop or the butcher. We always like to see what we are buying there.

We experimented last week with some frozen stuff and were impressed . It arrived still frozen , so we can confirm that the Coto refrigerated truck seems to work quite well.

  • There are certain products that we buy regularly, such as fruit juice, beer and Doritos for example and trips to any supermarket can be a gamble because you never know if what you're looking for has mysteriously disappeared for weeks on end.

Added to this problem are the prices which vary wildly. For example, Cepita Multifruta 1L is around $370 in Coto and $700 in Chinese and corner shops, so we've started to buy packs of 18 and 24 of such products on Mercadolibre with free next day delivery.

Cepita in this case was only $216 per 1L!

The missus sometimes buys bags of dog and cat food on ML as it can work out cheaper than buying it here. She also once bought 10X150gr bars of Aguila chocolate on ML until the local Vea dropped their price on it.
