An interesting attempt at explaining the 10 pm dinner hour in Spain. I’m not sure it completely makes the case for me: surely the custom predates Franco?

I always thought it was crazy that Spain wasn't on GMT especially since Portugal is. When I sailed from La Coruna and we hopped into the next port which just happened to be Portugal a few miles down the coast, we had to put our clocks back.
