These are worth a watch, especially the Nisman documentary.

The only one of these I’ve seen is Nisman, which disappointed. Reading this makes me want to watch Iosi and Okupas.

Diciembre 2001 is a timely reminder of the catastrophic default of that month and year. People lost their entire life savings, the government of De la Rua was in denial and hoping the IMF would once again come to the rescue. Leading figures were rushing around worried about their own futures, ignoring the reality which was that the people simply would not take any more.

Adri says it was much worse than portrayed in this series with deflation, nothing to buy in the shops with the government lying and saying that one peso still equalled one dollar, which in fact was very far from the truth.

    Sound familiar?

It's on Star+ which I think comes with Disney. Not sure because I share it with the lad.

We get very low prices of $1000 per month through Mercadolibre.

Argentine TV was a little different in the 90s!

Rudy Giuliani also enjoyed dressing as a woman. What’s with these high-profile female impersonators?

On April 30th The Eternaut arrives on Netflix. Written by Hector Oesterheld in the 50s, who was eventually murdered, along with his four daughters by the military junta in 1977, it became a hallmark of comics to come.

To know the history of this man, this video tells us how it all came about and the author's tragic end.

    The Eternaut trailer

His wife, Elsa, was the only survivor.

When I read stuff like that I find it so hard to believe that could happen here but it obviously did. Not that long ago either which makes it all the more disturbing.

I know it will be hard to watch, but I know we need to. It happened in Argentina in the 1970’s, and it’s starting now in the United States.

I'm reading the book at the moment. Added to which, when this took place I was at St Andrew's School, Olivos, my brother was at St George's, Quilmes (of penguin fame) and we used to play rugby against each other, although the penguin must have arrived later.

Because that's where the penguin story takes place. It's a true story as well.
