What a bunch of arseholes. I can't stand showbiz people or politicians....they're very similar types.

    What do you think?

To quote Shakespeare’s Macbeth totally out of context, “it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

Yes, I passed on that too. But I have to say the Academy seems to have caught up with the times by awarding Oscars to people they never used to recognise.

You’re right. As Michelle Yeoh said in her acceptance, “For all the little boys and girls who look like me, watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities.”

A Korean winner said exactly the same last night.

I didn't watch it because I find the whole thing nauseating, although the BBC reckons it was the best ever. Those speeches, ffs.

One Battle After Another dominates Oscars as Michael B Jordan and Jessie Buckley win acting prizes
Paul Thomas Anderson's political thriller wins six prizes including best picture and best director.

The missus had it on for the last few awards and like me didn't have a clue who anyone was. In fact the only person she eventually did recognise was Ewan McGregor and I wouldn't have known who he was until he spoke.

I loved it when I was young and went to the cinema. Now I can't be arsed with it.

If Ricky Gervais had hosted the show, I probably would have watched it!

Can’t stand awards shows. Self-congratulatory poppycock.

I read that Sinners and One Battle After Another were the big winners. I thought both those movies were very good.
