In the Euro 2022 final on Sunday at 1700 BST, England face Germany at Wembley and so far England is unbeaten. They are coached by Sarina Wiegman from Holland and this goal against Sweden who they beat 4-0, was very cheeky.

I might try and catch it on BBC iPlayer.

    England 2 - Germany 1.

What a great game and a nail biter until the last few minutes of extra time.

These big tournaments are where the future of women's football lie, and will be the path towards growth for the game. They should be organising them more frequently than the men's game.

It started with a kiss, as the song goes.

Luis Rubiales, the Spanish football association president, kissed Jenni Hermoso, Spanish World Cup winning team player, on the lips during the presentation ceremony and this has caused outrage in Spain with many calling it a Me Too moment.

But let's pause for a moment. Clearly kissing a women without her consent is not recommended, but apparently she did consent to the kiss and appears very joyful later on in the changing room with Mr Rubiales. She doesn't look upset in the least.

Is this just a case of the media wanting to make more of this than they should? Many are calling for him to resign, but he refuses to do so and is adamant that he was caught up in the euphoria of the moment. In fact, the association is taking legal action against the player and the Spanish women's team is now refusing to play any more games until he resigns.

I didn't think the kiss was any big deal and just assumed he knew her. Him clutching his crotch however made him look a right silly arse.

I saw part of that victory celebration on tv, and wasn’t very bothered by his cheek-kissing of multiple players, but then he really seemed to move in on her, grabbing her head in such a way that she’d have had to make a real scene in order to break away. At the time, I thought “He’s banking on her unwillingness to ruin the victory moment,” putting her in the position of having to put up with an undoubtedly uninvited, lengthy smooch.

Edit: The player was so offended by Rubiales’ saying the kiss was consensual, and by his pressuring her to say it was, that she spoke out to say “in no way was it consensual.” And the team said they wouldn’t play until he was out of there.

    What a pig.

Yip, clutching at his crown jewels in front of the Queen of Spain was a wee bit out of place.

In the changing room she said she did consent, with the words, "Pues, vale."

I'd like to have seen the reaction if he'd been a woman instead.

Seems there's a picture going about of her lifting him in the air before he gave her a smacker on the lips.
