LOVE IT, though utterly expensive here (but available, still!). They claim they use a many different spices/herbs and their recipe is a secret.

We regularly stock Gordon's Gin at home. We used to buy it when traveling abroad and having it available at Coto and Disco make it a regular presence in our home. We love having a gin tonic while cooking dinner. Then we switch to wine or beer.
We are pretty classic on gin tonic, regular Schweppes, ice and gin. Nothing else. Not even a slice of lemon. Mostly because I am too unskilled to try doing anything else.
I heard that cucumber slice was also popular a few years ago, so did gin lemon. But I honestly cannot enjoy a gin lemon as much as I enjoy the regular one. I did start by drinking gin lemon when I was 18+, to sort of wean me into alcoholics.
Beer came later in life, for me. Wine even later.
I did translate a barman course for Diageo many years ago and it was really interesting. There was a story behind each of their beverage (when was it invented, where, how it is made nowadays, how to serve, what glass should be used), tips for serving and cocktail recipes. They also sell Guinness beer, so there was a chapter on that, as well. Really charming job.
I like my Gin and Tonic with a big squeeze of lime.

I will try Hendricks Gin if it is available where I live.
My favorite Gin is Bombay Blue Sapphire; followed by Gilbey's. As for Gordon's Gin, I don't know why this is, however about one year ago
the taste of Gordon's Gin changed (to me it has some sort of "background" taste that I don't like).
As for the use of mixers with Gin: I usually make a Martini or Gimlet. If the former, I use dry vermouth (1/3 Jigger to 2 shots of Gin); 1 teaspoon of Olive Juice;
ice (plenty of ice in a shaker). If things get really "hairy" at "Forum Headquarters", I have at least two Martinis, sometimes three!

I think "olive juice" is the liquid in a bottle of olives. Because it is slightly cloudy instead of perfectly clear, when you want it in your drink, you order a "dirty martini." (Or maybe I just made that up; probably better to think/write about drinks a bit later in the day than 8 a.m.?)

I'm with Tom - lime is softer than lemon and, in my opinion, complements the gin better. Living in a hot part of the world as I do, there's nothing better than to sit under the pergola on a 35deg late afternoon and taste that first sharp bite of juniper and citrus. Heavenly!

I haven't heard that expression before, i.e., "mother's ruin".
As for Gin verses other alcoholic beverages - I preferred Brandy (Korbel Brandy) with soda over the "rocks" for a long time.
However, for the last 2 or 3 years I have been a lover of Martinis.

With my last month's shopping at Costco, I discovered they carry in stock Hendricks Gin.
However, it is going to be awhile before I actually try it; the price is USD 58.99 for the 1.75 Liter Bottle.

Depends on how picky you might be. Seems that Costco has some other interesting options. Gin's at the bottom.

I currently have a bottle of London Dry Gin from Costco (almost gone - 1.75 Liter).
It is a good gin, but not the best. (The price at my Costco store is USD 17.99)
My favorite remains as: Bombay Gin.
I'll keep the London Dry in mind. I only drink gin with tonic so as long as it's not made in a bathtub, I'm satisfied.
