Questions about banking & transactions

Hi,

I have a ton of questions about various formalities within banking transactions in Argentina and was wondering if anyone could provide some information.

Background: I'm new to the forums and may be potentially moving to AR temporarily on sabbatical. I will obviously be working if I go and will need an account.

So the DNI is the main form of ID and you need it to do anything bank related, similar with CUIL & CUIT.

How is tax done out there, I noticed on some online stores/marketplaces, that it says excl Tax & that it's 64%. Do we get a tax bill monthly/annually or is tax calculated at checkout on online stores?
It also seems a little excessive having to provide DNI on sites like mercadolibre if you are a buyer, is that purely because we can receive payments via it as well as seller?

In the UK & British citizen. Hence why I thought it was weird having to provide something like my national insurance number to purchase stuff, which is essentially what CUIL/CUIT is right?

I've lived here 15 years although I have a DNI I don't have a CUIL/CUIT. If I want something from ML the missus gets it for me.

Does she haveto pay any form of tax bill or is tax just done at the checkout stage?

You will have one but you havent realised it.

Look on the back of your DNI

It normally is 2 numbers then your DNI and then one number

I remember when I applied for my DNI the missus was asked if I needed a CUIT and she said no.
