In December 2021 Alberto Fernandez signed an agreement for Russia to train Argentine soldiers in Russia, for free. No charge. Not sure what Russia gets out of this, but maybe a base in Argentina. Certainly a nuclear power plant or two.
But with the IMF agreement looming very close, this government now needs to start mending a few bridges with the USA. In fact, only three weeks ago, the president was shaking hands with Putin in the Kremlin and declaring that Argentina is the front door of South America, through which Russia will be welcome to pass at any time.
