Please excuse the blatant self promotion here, but frankly all credit where it's due.
After finishing the final draft of The Last British President I was lucky enough to meet an editor (you know who you are) who proofread the manuscript and pummelled it into shape for me. Some of the mistakes were Kindergarten stuff and believe me, you can never read a manuscript enough times. Writing is easy, but the rest takes forever.
This week I submitted the translated Spanish version to the Argentine publishers, Tinta Libre - it's along haul of about six months of translation - and they had this to say:
Quote
I want to highlight the great work done by your Spanish corrector and the attention to detail she has put into it. Rarely does a work of such quality come to us.
This is huge praise indeed and well deserved by the young lady who translated the book from English to Spanish (Castellano/Rioplatense). She captured the very essence of the book and, after reading it, I found it made even more sense in Spanish than English. But more than that, she translated what my English editor had put into shape in the first place, so all credit goes to her as well.
I'm hoping that the Spanish version of the book will be available by the end of March 2022 and will be available as paperback and eBook, and payment can be made in local currency, which is why I chose POD (print on demand) here in Argentina, due to the extortionate taxes on dollar purchases on Amazon.
